Seventeen years ago, I started going to open mics. It all began in Red Bank, New Jersey. Drove myself in green Honda civic toward The Internet Cafe (which is no longer), signed my name to piece of paper attached to clipboard, treated myself to a delicious cup of coffee and (sometimes) a slice of chocolate cake and waited for my name to be called. I’ve performed on a range of stages, earning my way toward feature slots and I am so excited to announce tonight’s performance at Dixon Place, a phenomenal and rare spot in NYC that features queer artists and experimental writers/performers.
Join me tonight as I perform at the Queer Text Literary Salon, a literary reading series exploring the rich lives of LGBTQ people. Curated by Phillip Ammonds. Also featuring Anton Nimblett. Support this extraordinary venue and series!
Dixon Place is located at 161 Chrystie St in NYC. Admission is FREE!!!! Show begins at 7:30pm
